Playground: DoodlesbyArt x KURA: Paints and Bakes

The grand idea comes from the ever-important “Thinking with Your hands” and “Playing”

Artania, Founder, Doodles by Art

Our Studio

In the era of overstimulation and floods of information, to get people excited about an idea we try to have an AWE moment. Taking a cue from the famous museum paintings, those making headlines, we are making a huge painting - to create a sense of larger than life.

A canvas bigger than you !

The session will take inspiration from photographs of world nature landscape, South Island New Zealand from a wide lens to give the feeling of larger than life . Paints provided will be curated colors mixed to facilitate the creation of a singular painting that oozes AWE.

Why Playground?

We want to do host a gathering , we want to play and we want to do it Doodlesbyart’s style - a safe space to express yourself through colours.

Integrating the knowledge about oneself and the world. A chance to experience a different form of playground without missing its magic.

Hosted in a cafe - the IT place of today- each person performs together to create a singular painting. The painting is an example of a cultural expression.

We asked one of our dear friends who is an amazing artist and painter, Jacky, a question; Why do you paint? He answered

“I love the feeling when the paint from the brush glides the surface”

It surprised as at the start but - we agreed. It is so simple yet so true. The feeling when the paint brushes the canvas is just magical. So after much thought we decided we want to create that opportunity for everyone to feel that.

90 minutes guided session

We will share about our approach with colours and stories behind them. We will guide you through as you express yourself and make your mark on the canvas together. To finish the session, we will have a casual chat over bakes and coffee.

Truly a product of self-expression and artistry in a collaborative company. We have so much love and respect for the team behind KURA. They are moving to the next chapter and having their last bakes on 21st of April . Hearing their story inspired us. We want to create something together and we are blessed that we are so supportive about it!

They are letting us in to their cafe as early as them. To experience the behind the scene only a few can see.

While they are baking their bakes and tarts, we are going to be painting.

At the end, they will serve us their bakes and we will show them our painting!
